Open work, precise boundaries.

1. Ownership

Unless a separate notice says otherwise, original material published by SYMBOT LTD is owned by or licensed to SYMBOT LTD. Author names and academic citations identify contribution and provenance; they do not, by themselves, determine legal ownership.

Third-party code, content and marks remain subject to their owners' rights and notices.

2. Open-source software

Public software repositories are governed by the licence file distributed with that repository and version. Those licences may permit copying, modification and commercial use subject to their conditions. See our software licensing index, but rely on the repository itself for the controlling text.

3. CC BY 4.0 materials

Where a specification, paper or other work is marked Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International, you may share and adapt that licensed material for any purpose subject to the licence conditions.

If you share the licensed material or an adaptation, you must:

• retain the creator identification, copyright notice, licence notice, disclaimer notice and link or URI for the material where supplied and reasonably practicable;
• state that the material is licensed under CC BY 4.0 and link to it;
• indicate whether you modified the material; and
• avoid implying that SYMBOT LTD or an author endorses you or your use.

Attribution may be given in any reasonable manner suited to the medium. The full licence is at creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0. If a breach is cured within the period provided by the licence, rights may be automatically reinstated under its terms.

4. Ideas, implementations and citation

Copyright protects original expression; it does not give SYMBOT LTD an exclusive right over facts, abstract ideas, general concepts or independently developed methods. An independent implementation is not automatically subject to CC BY merely because it implements a published idea. Other rights may still apply in a particular case.

Academic and technical citation is strongly encouraged because it makes provenance visible and the research record useful. A recommended citation for the Mesh Memory Protocol is:

Where you discuss SVAF or another named research contribution, cite the specific paper or specification you relied on. This recommendation is distinct from any attribution legally required by a licence.

5. Trademarks

SYM.BOT, xMesh and associated product names and logos may be trademarks or claimed marks of SYMBOT LTD or its licensors. The ™ symbol may identify an unregistered claimed mark. The ® symbol must be used only for a mark registered in the relevant jurisdiction.

You may make accurate descriptive or editorial references to SYM.BOT products and compatibility. You must not suggest sponsorship, endorsement or affiliation, or use a confusingly similar name, logo, domain or product presentation. No open-source licence grants trademark rights.

6. Confidential and proprietary technology

Publication of open code or research does not grant rights to non-public source code, models, weights, datasets, training materials, evaluation procedures, security information, product integrations, customer materials or other confidential know-how.

xMesh and related non-public materials are proprietary unless a written agreement expressly grants rights. Do not submit confidential information through a public repository or issue tracker.

7. Reporting and contact

To report suspected infringement, include the work or mark concerned, where it appears, your basis for the report, and reliable contact details. We may request evidence of authority.
